stuff...

So I went a little nuts after reading the book the first time and did a quick purge (resulting in three giant bags to Goodwill), sad that a quick purge resulted in so much un-needed stuff!  I now have begun the process of cleaning one cabinet, one drawer at a time.  I took two more bags to goodwill today.  I know we are supposed to be finding a connection to the people that are receiving this stuff, but I have yet to find a way- I have random junk- ice cube trays anyone?

I wondered today as I pulled up to the goodwill donation center- what on earth must this man think as he goes through my bags, anyone's bags that they drop off- I am sure he, more than anyone can tell you about consumerism and how we all buy way too much crap that we don't need- crap that no one actually needs.

I wonder, will anyone actually need these random things I am "giving" away...grateful that they are no longer in my house and praying that I will not be back here next year with more stuff...praying to be strong and not fill the voids in my life with junk, but with the One who has given me blessings beyond measure.

Speaking of the random things, does anyone need coffee filters- we don't even own a coffee pot yet we have filters!  I also have Lansinoh breast milk storage bags if anyone is interested...

On a side note, I gave & to my sisters this summer.  One hasn't read it yet, and the other is going nuts over it :)  She and I have given ourselves the goal of Thanksgiving for total overhaul of our homes- no closet or drawer left unpurged!

Good luck to everyone in the "stuff" department :)

PS- I am absolutely LOVING the verse that MOPS is using this year...yay Robin!  It is so on target with our 7 quest....

 1 Peter 4:8-11 NLT
"Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay. God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen."
